So since the end of semester, I've been playing Final Fantasy V again on my GBA. It's not bad, a lot of fun to play, but not the greatest story. I think story it's a toss up between Final Fantasy IV, VI and VII for my favorite. What's your favorite FF game?

The SNES-era Square games, along with the Genesis Phantasy Star and Shining series are what got me into RPGs originally, so I'll have to agree with you. FF6 really holds up well; I try to replay it every 2 or 3 years. The gba version was a nice treat with some cool new bonuses, and I really hope they do a DS remake like they did with FF4. 6:10:50 And I always take the sword rather than the esper. It takes awhile to uncurse the cursed shield and learn the Ultima spell that way, but you can wager the Ragnarok sword at the colosseum for the best weapon in the game... And I understand a new wave of FF games will soon be released.... I just hope that SquareEnix spends as much time and effort writing the plot as they do designing the character's hair-styles.

I never had the patience to break the curse, so I just took the esper. I've never been able to get into the Phantasy Star series, but I looooove the Shining series. Shining Force 2 got me into SRPGs more than any other game (expect maybe Desert Commander (Bonus Points if you remember that one)). It's been officially stated that SquarEnix is considering a 3D remake of both 5 and 6. I'm looking forward to Legend 2 being done that way. 3 and 4 are both quite fun.
